Dennis Stephen Crowley

Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, June 5, 2026, Dennis Crowley, 78, husband of 54 years to Barbara Crowley.

Mr. Crowley lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to others. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, he retired from Standard Aero following a distinguished career as an aircraft mechanic.

Deeply committed to his Catholic faith, he was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, where he generously volunteered with Vacation Bible School, Faith Formation, and the training of altar servers. His dedication to youth extended beyond the parish, as he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and remained a lifelong supporter of Scouting. While a parishioner of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, he revitalized the long-dormant Troop 8, serving as Scoutmaster and helping guide countless young people in character and leadership. Mr. Crowley also served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Terence Cardinal Cooke Council 8495 in Grovetown and was widely respected for his commitment to both church and community. In recognition of his many years of faithful service, Bishop Stephen Parkes presented him with the prestigious Bishop Gartland Award in December 2025.

A tireless volunteer and servant leader throughout the Augusta area, he was honored with a proclamation from former Augusta Mayor Charles DeVaney for his outstanding community leadership. Though his accomplishments were many, the role he cherished most was that of loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, whose steadfast love and example will continue to inspire all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, family members include his sons: Michael William Crowley (Destré Xan) and ABE 1 AW/SW (Ret) Timothy Michael Crowley (Sarah); and grandchildren: Michael William Crowley II, MC2 Tyler Timothy Crowley (Kassandra), Spencer Stephen Crowley, Barbara Rose Crowley, Tanner Shaye Crowley, and Sawyer True Crowley.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Philip and Margaret Crowley; his son: Dennis Stephen Crowley II; his brother: Philip Crowley; his sister: Diane Hughes; and his canine companion: Ralph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:00A.M at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Hassel celebrant. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Barbara Rose Crowley, Jason Rehr, Larry Sprowls and members of the Knights of Columbus. Air Force Funeral Honors will be rendered at the cemetery.

A Rosary service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 7:00P.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. The family will receieve friends at the church following the service from 7:30 until 9:00P.M.
