Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, January 28, 2024, Senator Donald E. Cheeks (Ret.), 92, husband of 64 years to the late Betty H. Cheeks. 

Don retired as a real estate investor and as a Georgia State Senator. He was a faithful member of Curtis Baptist Church. 

Family members include his daughters: Donna C. Krouse, Deborah Cheeks, and Leslie Cheeks; grandchildren: Ashby Krouse IV,  Alyssa Krouse, Lauren Bell, Benjamin Bell, Morgan Mason-Gratham, and Katherine Duckett; and numerous great grandchildren. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Curtis Baptist Church, 1348 Broad Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
