Dr. Anne Maledon Loebl, 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 55 years, Dr. Donald H. Loebl, Sr. and their four children: Mary (Mark) Reuter of Cincinnati, OH; John Loebl, Michael Loebl and Donald (Ellie) Loebl, Jr., MD, of Augusta, GA. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Matthew Brian Reuter, William Joseph Reuter, John Patrick Reuter, Christopher Thomas Reuter and Mary Alice Reuter, all of Cincinnati, OH; and Donald Hulbert Loebl, III and Carol Elizabeth Loebl, both of Augusta, GA.
Preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph Maledon and Alice Conroy Maledon, Anne is survived by her five siblings: Marilyn Maledon, William (Kathleen) Maledon, Rosemary (Denny) Campbell, Eleanor (Christopher) Moran and Michael (Debbie) Maledon. They remember their older sister’s love and compassion and remain inspired by her resilience and perseverance. Anne is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
A distinguished physician, Anne earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center.
After a year of practicing as an internist at Eisenhower Medical Center (Fort Gordon), she spent the next three years in MCG’s prestigious dermatology residency program, fulfilling her dream to become a dermatologist. Throughout her career, she was a respected member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, Georgia Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, Richmond County Medical Society, and the Georgia Society of Rheumatology.
Dr. Anne Loebl dedicated her life to the medical profession and found deep joy in caring for her patients. Yet, above all, her greatest joy was her family and the time that she spent with them. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, and loving grandmother, whose life was guided by faith, compassion, and service. Anne was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church for nearly 50 years, where she lived out her commitment to faith and community.
