Dr. Ellen Kay LeMosy

Martinez, GA – Dr. Ellen Kay LeMosy, 62, died after a short illness on April 16, 2026. She is survived by her cats, Ronny, Elvis, Etch, and Trace, and by her sisters, Lora and Cecelia (Mark Barron) LeMosy, as well as her uncle, William (Judy) LeMosy, and her cousins James (Sara) LeMosy, Thomas (Viviana) Algeo and Katie Algeo. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Joan LeMosy.

Ellen graduated with an MD/PhD from Duke Medical School in 1994 and did her postdoctoral research at Yale, coming to Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2002. Ellen was deeply passionate about her research. She was also a dedicated educator who greatly enjoyed mentoring young scientists. In her leisure time, Ellen enjoyed reading mysteries and drama and spending time with her cats.
