Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, E. Wayne Connor, 83, loving husband of 49 years to Gail Connor.
Mr. Connor was born in Appling, Georgia, and was a proud graduate of Harlem High School and Georgia Southern University. He devoted many years of his professional life to Ferguson Industrial, where he served with distinction as a sales manager before his retirement. He also honorably served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Connor found great enjoyment in hunting and in the thrill of competitive racing, supporting his son Brian for many years as he raced on paved tracks, dirt tracks, and with go-karts. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he cherished time with his family above all else. He was a committed member of the Harlem Bulldog Club and Philadelphia Global Methodist Church, communities that reflected both his loyalty and his faith.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Connor is survived by sons: Jason Connor (Renae), Daniel Connor (Emily), Brian Connor; grandson: Mitchell Connor; brother: R. Allen Connor; and devoted granddog: Roscoe. He is preceded in death by parents: Raymond and Lorraine Connor.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Charles Broome officiating. Mr. Connor will lie state one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Lazar, Jimmy Lewis, Brian Ligon, Benji Moore, John Perry, Scott Tharpe, and Ronnie Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude or Philadelphia Global Methodist Church, 780 Old Louisville Road, Harlem, GA 30814.
