Martinez, GA – Evelyn Louise Casey, 88, entered into rest Friday, August 1, 2025.
Evelyn was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, where her roots were planted in kindness, compassion, and a deep sense of service to others. After relocating to Georgia, she dedicated over 30 years of her life to the Medical College of Georgia, where she built not only a remarkable career, but a legacy of care and commitment. Her unwavering devotion to the MCG Children’s Hospital Telethon — from its very beginning to its final broadcast — was recognized and honored, reflecting her passion for supporting families and children in need.
Even after retiring from MCG, Evelyn’s heart for service never wavered. She continued to give selflessly as a beloved volunteer at Doctor’s Hospital for an incredible 25 years. Always a warm and welcoming presence at the front desk, she became a fixture of kindness and reliability for patients, staff, and visitors alike. In recognition of her dedication, Evelyn was presented with the Lifetime Member Award by the Volunteer Guild — a fitting tribute to a life lived in service of others.
Evelyn’s legacy is one of compassion, humility, and steadfast devotion. She touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity, and the impact of her work will be remembered for years to come.
She had a passion for adventure and a heart that craved the world—traveling across six continents, she didn’t just visit countries; she immersed herself in their cultures, embraced their traditions, and shared their stories with the world. She rode camels across sun-soaked deserts, bathed elephants in lush jungle rivers, and captured the breathtaking beauty and raw power of tigers on film—living a life of wild adventure and unforgettable moments.
Family members include her daughter: Janet McKenzie (John); son: Alan Casey (Sally); grandchildren: Paris Brentnell (Greg) and Teddy McKenzie; great-grandchildren: A.J., Morgan, Landon, and Mason; niece: Annette Gross; great niece: Farrah LaPan; and devoted canine companion: Lily.
