Evelyn Jewel “Dolly” Hinton

Augusta, GA – Evelyn Jewel “Dolly” Hinton, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior while at her home on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Jewel was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a dedicated member of Lakemont Presbyterian Church and faithfully loved and nurtured little ones while serving every week in the nursery for many, many years.

Mom enjoyed being a participate in “Keenagers” in her later years. She spent her days reading her daily devotion and spending personal time with her Lord, praying for others. She was known as a sweet and precious person by everyone.

Survivors include a daughter: Evelyn Cynthia Hinton; three sons: Donald Wade Hinton (Angela), Ronald Wayne Hinton, and Jerry Hinton; grandchildren: Richard Lester Hinton (Kelly), Stephanie Marie Holt (Tavis), Emily Nicole Hinton, Lance Christopher Thigpen, and Christian John Walker; great grandchildren: Carter Orion Hinton, Kinley Saige Hinton, and Lloyd Isaac Holt. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lester Hinton, a son, Richard Lester Hinton.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dave Vosseller officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
