Finetta Hancock

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Finetta Hancock, 96, wife of Donald Hancock.

Finetta Hancock taught at various schools for many years including Glenn Baptist School, Hillcrest Baptist School, and Curtis Baptist School. She was an avid volunteer at Meals on Wheels, St. Joseph Hospice, and ESL at First Baptist Augusta. Finetta also taught an adult Sunday school class, as well as being a member of the church’s bereavement committee. She also enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking.

In addition to her husband, family members include her sons: Kim L. Hancock (Susan) and Barry Dean Hancock.

She is preceded by her parents: John and Addie Graves; and by her brother: W.P. Graves.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Brookdale Assisted Living for their loving fellowship during the several years of her living there, and especially for their very loving support during the time of her illness and home-going.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church Storey Chapel with Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. Inurnment will follow in First Baptist Church Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the church.
