Garland Walter Fyffe

Evans, GA – Garland Walter Fyffe, 85, entered into rest on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Garland was a devoted and faithful husband to his beloved wife of 63 years, Dagmar S. Fyffe, a bond that stood as a testament to enduring love and commitment.

Garland lived a wonderful life, full of love, service, dedication and loyalty to his country and family. He joined the US Army at age 18, and for 26 years he proudly served his country at home and in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. 

Garland had a fulfilling retirement, full of travel and treasured time with family. He had a deep love for the outdoors and throughout his life he found great joy in gardening, fishing, boating and hunting. He enjoyed sharing these passions with his family, especially fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He passed down not only his knowledge but also a lasting appreciation for the simple things in life. 

Garland will be remembered by all who knew him as a wonderful and kind man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. 

In addition to his wife Dagmar, family members include his daughter: Evelyn Sybille Fyffe-Mathiesen (Kay); son: Derrick G. Fyffe (Lori); grandchildren: Shannen Edry (Chris), Leah Mathiesen, Ryan Fyffe, Ben Mathiesen, and Thomas Mathiesen; great-grandchildren: Michael Edry, Matthew Edry, Madelyn Edry, and Caroline Edry; brother: Preston Fyffe; sisters: Mary Savage and Faribee Pinkerton. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Hazel Fyffe; and his brothers: Earl Fyffe and John Fyffe.
