Gary Wayne Carr

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, December 9, 2023, Gary Wayne Carr, 63, loving husband to Brenda Carr and devoted father and grandfather.

Gary was a native of Arlington, VA but spent most of his life in Augusta.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Christina Cantwell (Brian), Tim Carr (Georgetta), Brian Carr (Brandy), and Sarah Lutz; grandchildren: Chelsea Doyle, Caitlin Kennelly, Colby Cantwell, Mathiney Carr, Isaiah Carr, Branson Carr, and Brooklyn Carr; great grandchildren: Elisabeth Doyle, Nova Doyle, and Harper Kennelly; and sisters: Sandra Peel and Brenda Massenberg; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Holmes, and siblings, Jerry Carr, Kenneth Carr, Shirley Rabitsch, and Deborah Overstreet.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Fr. Kurt Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
