Gary Alan Wirsu

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, November 3, 2025, Gary Alan Wirsu, 79, loving husband of Samruam Wirsu.

Gary Wirsu honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corps for 22 years before retiring. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching baseball.

Family members include his wife: Samruam Wirsu; children: Bruce Richard Wirsu (Laurie), Thomas Anthony Wirsu (Wendi), and June-Marie Antionette Carpenter (Chuck); seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and brother: Daniel Bruce Wirsu.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ronald and Alice Wirsu, and sister: Patsy Sue Kruse.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
