Genesis Vega-Garcia

Augusta, GA – At just 33, Genesis left this world on February 25, 2026. Her life, quiet yet profoundly devoted, was bound entirely to the love she carried for her family. Taken before her time, her absence is a sorrow that settles into every corner of their lives, leaving a heartbreak too deep for words.

Her children were her world, her heartbeat, her reason for every sunrise. Every choice she made, every hour she worked, every sacrifice she carried — it was all for them. To her, they were not just her children; they were her purpose, her greatest love, and the center of her life in every sense of the word. She gave them comfort and courage, steadiness and strength, and a love so complete that it shaped the very fabric of their lives.

Genesis and her husband first met at 13 years old, two young people just beginning to understand themselves. At 18, they found their way back to one another and began a journey that would span nearly 15 years. Together, they raised three children and built a life woven with laughter, love, and the quiet endurance of shared challenges. They celebrated life and mourned loss side by side, navigating both joy and sorrow with resilience. Though life had taken them through different seasons, they remained connected by the family they built and the love that first brought them together.

Family members include her husband, Jonathan Johnson; children: Malekhi Johnson, Zyhara Johnson, Amias Johnson; mother: Erika Rodriguez; father: Rolando Vega; stepfather: Ricardo Rodriguez; paternal grandfather: Victor Young; paternal grandmother: Luz D. Figueroa. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother: Luz Concepcion.

As he shared: “She still has my soul. It feels cruel she’s gone. Life will never be the same without her. She was my everything.”

Professionally, Genesis built a remarkable career as a Sales Representative at T-Mobile. She approached her work with honesty, integrity, and a no-nonsense clarity that made her respected by colleagues and customers alike. She was straightforward in her guidance, candid when it mattered, and always put people first with a practical, thoughtful approach. Customers and coworkers trusted her because she was real — she didn’t sugarcoat, but she always acted with fairness and care. Her dedication, hard work, and authenticity made her a guiding presence in any room.

A licensed Master Cosmetologist, Genesis had a gift for helping others feel confident and beautiful. Though she no longer worked in a salon, she faithfully did her mother’s hair every week — a simple, loving ritual that reflected their closeness. She and her mother spoke every single day, sharing the small and meaningful moments of life.

Independent and self-reliant, Genesis valued her solitude and carried herself with calm confidence. She rarely asked for help; instead, she was the one others relied on. On family outings, she was the designated driver — composed and steady no matter what unfolded around her. That steadiness reflected her character: dependable, honest, and quietly strong.

She was selective with her closeness, sharing her heart only with those who truly knew her. Honest, grounded, and expressive in her own way, Genesis’s presence was quietly pensive, and when you looked into her beautiful green eyes, it was easy to get lost in their depth — a silent window to the thoughtfulness and strength she carried.

She loved animals and found peace in the outdoors. She was a devoted granddaughter and a compassionate caretaker to her grandfather, tending to him with patience, loyalty, and care.

Genesis will be remembered for her fierce love, her unwavering dedication, and the profound way she gave herself to those she loved most. Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, the depth of her love, the sacrifices she made, and the life she built for her children will echo for generations.

Genesis means beginning — and though this loss feels unbearably final, her love is not.

It lives in the children she raised with courage, devotion, and boundless heart.

It lives in the daily calls with her mother.

It lives in steady hands on a steering wheel, in quiet strength, and in the lives she shaped through her unwavering love.

It lives in the heart of her husband, who carried her soul and whose love for her will forever be intertwined with hers.

Her love was fierce, her life a gift, and though her presence is gone, it flows through every heart she touched and every memory that will carry her forward.

She is here — in the love that never fades, in the courage she instilled, in the quiet, unbreakable bond that will forever hold her close.
