Glenn Joseph Jones

Augusta, GA – Entered into sweet, blessed rest on Friday, January 2, 2026.

As a believer in Jesus Christ, one of the first verses Glenn ever memorized and never forgot was Jeremian 33:3. “Call unto Me and I will show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” It is no coincidence that the last breath he took on this earth before he entered into eternity with Jesus was at 3:33 AM; and now Glenn is being shown great and mighty things that we can only imagine.

He has “fought his final war with pain; death has given way to victory; he is walking the streets of glory; and he knows God reigns.”

Glenn loved hard. He loved Jesus and was so grateful God provided THE way for his salvation. Glenn always felt that his testimony is best stated in a verse from his favorite hymn:

“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now I’m found

Was blind, but now I see…”

Glenn deeply loved his family and was so proud of each one of them. A favorite pastime for him was telling anyone who would listen all about his children and their accomplishments.

Glenn was a patriot who wholeheartedly loved his country and her flag. He proudly served in Vietnam as a member of the United States Navy Seabees where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Medal with Marine Insignia and Bronze Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Additionally, Glenn loved his work and was fully committed to a job well-done. With skilled expertise in mechanics, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and construction, his chosen career was as a Building Operations Manager with the federal government. He retired from General Services Administration after years of taking care of old federal courthouses in Georgia (Savannah, Columbus, Augusta) and South Carolina (Aiken). He loved old buildings and desired for them to stay in their original state as much as possible. Glenn also had his own side business, After Hours Heating and Air.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, Wanda Belue Jones, Glenn left quite a legacy in his 8 children; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Family members include his children: Kim (Scott), Benjamin (Alex), David (Laura), Abel (Amanda), Silas (Katie), Paul (Caroline), Luke (Allison), and Sarah Beth; grandchildren: Taylor, Tyler, Leighton, John Silas, Jace, Charlie, Ellie, Izzy, Stetson, Gabe, Millie, and Max; great-grandchildren: Jenson and Bryson; his brothers: Nile, Keith (Brenda), Kenneth (Linda); and sister-in-law, Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward Cecil Jones (Buck), Sarah Elizabeth Nason (Libby); and Carol Warner Nason (C.W.); and by his brothers: Randy, Ricky, and Carol Warner Nason, Jr.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Curtis Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Lowry officiating. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM followed by the service at 3:00 PM.
