Gregory Scot Boulus, Jr.

Gregory Scot Boulus Jr entered into rest Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Gregory is survived by his loving parents, Clare and Greg, and his brothers Vaughan and Pierce.

Gregory was the cherished grandson of Salwa Boulus Bohler and Kerry Vaughan Poteet Walker. He leaves behind his many aunts and uncles who adored him dearly: Cazenove and Paul Boulus, Michelle and Gregory Parr, LaStarr and Buzz Poteet, Anna and Michael Lewis, Margaret Poteet, Stephen Poteet, Caroline and Andrew Poteet, and Ashley Poteet.

Gregory was loved and treasured by his twenty-two cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Paul Azeez Boulus, Thomas Gordon Bohler, and Thomas Clifford Poteet, and his uncle Gregory Carlton Poteet.

Gregory was an old soul with exceptional taste in cuisine, music, culture, and style. He had a love and appreciation of music in every genre. He began playing the bass guitar in a local band while in high school and continued through his college days in Athens, playing live music at many venues and social events around town.

His love of fine food began as a toddler dining on sushi. He preferred the tastes of adult menus and seating over that of kid tables and cuisine. This led to his love of cooking for his family and friends. He was known to host bar-b-ques and weekend cookouts for all his buddies in Athens.

Gregory's most endearing characteristic was his love for people. His world revolved around those he loved, and he loved big. He considered all of his friends to be family and loved and cared for them as if they were.

Always the life of the party, our baby G lit up any room with his beautiful smile. A best friend to all he met, his kindness and loyalty matched his giant, loving heart.

Gregory had a special place in that heart for his two younger brothers, and the relationship he shared with Vaughan and Pierce was like no other. The adventures and memories they made together will be forever cherished.

Gregory had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. Spending his leisure time playing golf and fly fishing mountain streams with friends. He especially enjoyed cruising in his vintage Boston Whaler through the coastal rivers and creeks of his beloved Edisto Island.

The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Ross celebrant, followed by the burial and visitation at Westover Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mac Berry, Andrew Daniel, Drew Dunagan, North Goodwin, Ryan Gunnels, Anderson Jones, Peter Knox, Thomas Leibach, Walker Leibach, Locke McKnight, Jace Perosa, Ballou Phillips, Henry Roche, Ben Shouse, Barrett Trotter, and George Vander Vennett.

All floral arrangements have been provided by the family.

In support of Gregory's passions, a memorial contribution in his honor can be made to Edisto Island Open Land Trust (Edisto.org), 547 SC-174, Edisto Island, SC, 29438 or Nuci's Space (nuci.org), 396 Oconee Street, Athens, GA, 30601.
