Herbert Briggs

Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, April 6, 2024, Herbert Briggs, 66, loving husband and best friend to Mary Ruth Briggs.

Herbert was born in Moscow, Tennessee. He served in the United States Army for over 20 years. After retiring he worked as a military instructor at Fort Gordon. Herbert enjoyed his family, fishing, music and playing the guitar. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He adored his children and provided for all of them.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: LaRissa Briggs, LaToya Johns (Ronny), LaTasha Williams (Marcus), DeKeisha Williams, Courtney Rogers, Christopher Briggs and Tristan Briggs; and thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and seven siblings: Bishop Ervin Briggs (Joyce), Leatrice Briggs, Ethel Briggs, Kathleen Briggs, Gloria Briggs, Anthony Briggs (Rezshon) and Stanly Briggs. He was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar Briggs and Willie Alberta Briggs; brothers: Oscar Lee Briggs, Colin Briggs and sister: Lovie Briggs.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Ervin Briggs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
