Entered into rest on Saturday, January 20, 2024, Herbert Lee Knight, 62.

 

Herbie was a native of Augusta, Georgia and a graduate of Glenn Hills High School. He worked at Savannah River Site as a welder.  An avid fan of UGA football, the Dallas Cowboys and WWE, which Herbie liked watching on television. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and planting flowers in his yard. Most of all Herbie was a family man and loved his family dearly.

 

Family members include his children: Amanda Alexander (Nick), Andrew Knight and Alex Knight; grandchildren: Ava Kate, Adalyn, Aimes, Asher and Ace; sister: Fran Knight; fiancé: Deana Sloan; stepson: Kevin Taylor; niece: Jessica Waltower and great nephew: Jonathan Rolland. He was preceded in death by his parents Marion “Bud” Knight and Margaret Knight.

 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Brad Whitt officiating. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
