Jackie Mims

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, November 29, 2024, Mr. Jackie Lee Mims, 74, loving husband of 51 years to Mrs. Ann Garvin Mims. 

Jack was a lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia. He was a 27-year veteran firefighter, working his way to Lieutenant for the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department. Jack retired from Augusta 9-1-1 Emergency Services after 15 years of service. He was known for his loyalty and willingness to help anyone. In his spare time Jack was an Amateur Radio Operator.

Jack's family members, in addition to his wife, include his son, Lee Mims and his wife Lisa, and two granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Mims.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Joe Bowden Officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M., at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907.
