Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, December 29, 2025, Jake Taylor, 81, husband of Patricia Taylor.

Jacob Taylor was born in October 16, 1944 in Emporia, VA to his parents, Billy Buck and Lummie Taylor. He went on to serve in the United States Navy for 4 years, where he enjoyed traveling to many different ports around the world. Even after getting out of the military, he went on to work for Crown Petroleum Convenient Stores where he continued to travel and relocate for work. While working in Augusta, GA, Jacob met his wife, Patricia. They continued to travel for his work before finally settling down for good back in Augusta. He soon worked as an accountant for Mr. Ed Perry and his sons Les and Heath, before officially retiring from A&A Vending.

In addition to his wife, family members include his son: Christopher Farrer (Christan); his daughter: Melissa Dickens (Christopher); his grandchildren: Addison Farrer, Asa Farrer, Kylie Ann Dickens, and Kyndall Dickens; his sister-in-law: Frances Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bristol Hospice. Especially to the nurses and aides that helped them daily, Mrs. Jackie Brown, Macy, Genevieve, Jean, Alison, and Karen, as well as the chaplain, Reverend Alan. Also, to the 3 Special Hearts that are now considered family, Donna Wiley, Janise Hunt, and Larissa Ronaldson.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Alan Leach officiating. The family will greet with friends after the service. At the family’s request, please dress in casual attire.
