James "Jim" Nelson Burdette, Jr.

Entered into rest on Sunday, June 7, 2026, Mr. James “Jim” Nelson Burdette, Jr., 85, loving husband of the late Loreene Burdette.

Jim was born on October 15,1940 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late James and Fredda Burdette. He grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina and graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree and was an engineer in the manufacturing business at AMACO Foam.

He was an avid Ham Radio Operator, loving to talk to people and making friends all over the world. Jim was a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his son: James (Trey) Burdette III (Carmen); and grandchildren: Kacie Adams (Jonathan), Josh Dunaway (Anna), and Amanda Pretzello (Michael); as well as great-grandchildren: Ben, Blakely, Emma, Isla, Ava and Betsy. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Burdette.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Enhabit Hospice for their compassionate care.

The memorial service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Mr. Al Bousenburg officiating.
