Augusta, GA – Jaramy Lee Rush, 44, devoted husband, father, son, and friend, entered into rest on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born with a generous heart and a steady spirit, Jaramy lived a life defined by loyalty, kindness, and quiet strength. A proud Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan, he could often be found cheering on his teams or listening to the old-school rock music he loved. He had a gift for making people smile—whether through his easygoing humor or the funny jokes and memes he loved to send just to brighten someone’s day.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Jaramy served in maintenance at NHC, where he cared for his residents as if they were his own family. His compassion extended far beyond the workplace—he was the kind of person who showed up without being asked. Whether helping friends move, making sure loved ones were safe during lockdown, or buying something someone needed without hesitation, Jaramy lived his life in service to others.
Above all, Jaramy loved his family fiercely. He cherished every moment with his wife, Dana, and held a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. His golden retrievers—Bailey, Mazie, Bentley, and his first pup, Lacey—were his constant companions and brought him endless joy.
Jaramy is survived by his loving wife, Dana Rush; his children, Kayla Marie Rush, Morgan Smith, Tony Smith, and Madison Smith (Ruben Almonte); and his grandchildren, Kayden and Katalina. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Vogel; his brother, Charles Christopher Rush; and his nieces, Emily Rush and Lyra Rush.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Christopher Rush, Sr.
A memorial service celebrating Jaramy’s life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 10:00–11:00 a.m., at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907.

A Tribute from His Wife
Jaramy made everyday life feel lighter and made me feel more loved. He showed his care in the smallest, most thoughtful ways—bringing home my favorite snacks, cooking meals just to make sure I ate, and doing anything he could to make my days easier. His love lived in the details, and those little acts of love will stay with me forever.
