Jean Adele Boone

March 10, 1954 – June 19, 2025

Jean Adele Boone, 71, of Aiken, S.C., passed away suddenly on June 19, 2025. She was born on March 10, 1954 in Wadsworth, Ohio; daughter of Morton and Marjorie (Longsdorf) Boone.

Jean grew up in Wadsworth, Ohio and was a proud graduate of Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!), where she received her BS in Horticulture. After earning her degree, Jean relocated to Virginia, where she began her career at the private estate of John Kluge, a 7,300-acre working farm in Charlottesville. Then Jean moved to Chesapeake, VA to continue her horticulture work at White’s Nursery and finished her career in Nellysford, VA as the office manager of Rice Dentistry.

Jean was most proud of, and considered her greatest role in life, being a mother to her daughter, Rebecca Ann. Jean’s interest in the equestrian world blossomed when her daughter’s love of horses went from a few lessons to a lifelong passion. Jean attended every horse show, big or small, and was always Becca’s biggest cheerleader! Jean loved all animals, especially her spoiled cats, Marmalade and Bailey.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Boone Kim, her son-in-law, Joshua Kim, her cherished grandchildren (“The Littles”) Elijah Boone Kim and Finley Lou Kim and her brother, Frank Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Nancy Hicks.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled later in Nellysford, Virginia.
