With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the passing of Jessica Miller Graham—a loving wife, devoted mother, gifted artist, and radiant soul whose creativity and compassion touched all who knew her.
Jessica was the beloved wife of Michael Henry Graham, with whom she shared a life grounded in love, partnership, and enduring devotion. She was also a cherished mother to her children, Hannah Kathrine and Henry, who were the center of her world. Her children were her greatest masterpiece—nurtured with patience, strength, and unwavering love. Her other love and loyal companion, Molly, was always faithfully by her side.
She saw the world not just as it was, but as it could be—full of delicate color, playful light, and quiet wonder. Her favorite place was always behind the easel and by the water. Jessica was widely known for her plein air paintings of the Lowcountry, where marshes, waterways, and shifting skies came alive beneath her brush. Her work captured the soul of the landscape with an immediacy that invited others to pause and truly see. Alongside these scenes, she lovingly created images of angels and sheep—symbols of peace, protection, and gentleness that reflected her own spirit.
Most of all, her faith was her firm foundation, guiding her life with strength, hope, and grace. Her favorite verse, Psalm 91:4, reflects the peace she carried within her: “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
Family and friends will remember her gentle spirit and graceful presence. Her friendships extended into the larger art community, leaving a lasting imprint on all.
A celebration of life will be held at the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta on Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. The family will hold a visitation afterwards where some of her latest artwork will be on display. Just days before her 56th birthday, Jessica will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always celebrated.
The Aiken Center for the Arts was dear to her heart and home to much of her art. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to https://canvas.aikencenterforthearts.org/donate and click the box to designate the donation in memory of Jessica Graham.
