Jim "Short" Baucom

Evans, GA – James “Short” Baucom, 92, went home to be with the Lord May 2, 2026, Husband of the late Jeanne S. Baucom.

He was a member of Abilene Baptist Church for 46 years where he served faithfully. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a wonderful friend and was always willing to help others in any way he could. He made everyone around him feel loved as he always greeted them with a friendly smile, a kind word, and a warm hug.

Family members include son: Tim Baucom (Beth), daughters: Cynthia Conner (David) and Amy Bennett (Dennis), grandchildren: Tony Conner (Christy), Melodie Conner, Joshua Bennett (Heather), and Amber Johnson (Garrett), great grandchildren: Wyatt Conner, Caitlynn Conner, and Jocelynn Bennett, and brother: Joe Baucom.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at the Thomas Poteet & Son Chapel with Rev. William F. Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery.
