Josefa Mendez Gonzales

Born on December 12th, 1947 in Yocon, Olancho, Honduras. Josefa was a woman of grace, strength, and boundless love. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished; her nurturing spirit will be missed more than words can express. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched. She was known for her generosity, humor, and wisdom, and her love for her family was the foundation of everything she did. As a mother, she provided love, care, and valuable life lessons, teaching her children through words and actions.

She is preceded in death by her mother, two sisters, two brothers, and two of her children. She is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, and other close family members, who will continue to honor her memory and the lessons she imparted to them. Her legacy will live on in the love and strength she gave her family.

On Monday, December 2nd, a viewing will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907, from 5 pm to 7 pm, and a Graveside Service on Tuesday, December 3rd at Bellevue Memorial Gardens at 2 pm; where friends and family are invited to celebrate her life and share memories. 

While we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in each of us, guiding and watching over us always.
