Joseph “Joey” Peter Belans

Evans, GA – Joseph “Joey” Peter Belans, 51, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on January 1, 2026. Joey was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, indomitable work ethic, and passion for FSU football.

Joey enjoyed playing soccer, roller skating, sharing his love of music as a Deejay, and was a respected professional in the field of cyber security. His dedication to his work and his creativity in his hobbies reflected his vibrant personality and commitment to excellence.

Joey is survived by his loving wife of almost 20 years, Alyssa Michelle Belans; his two children, Riley Joseph Belans and Emma "Ollie" Jayne Belans; his parents Bob and Jomary Belans; his brother Chris Belans; and his sister Joanna Belans. Joey was preceded in death by his son Aidan Christopher Belans. Joey’s memory will live on in their hearts and in the lives of all who were fortunate to know him.

A private celebration of life will be held at the end of January. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Joey’s honor.
