Josephine Phillips

Evans, GA - With hearts full of love and memories, we announce the passing of Josephine Phillips, 88, on Saturday December 27, 2025.

Josephine, also known as Gran Gran to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, had a special warmth that you could feel when she smiled or entered a room. She loved her family and close friends deeply. Her perfect day was baking and cooking for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and anyone else she could feed. She wouldn’t let you leave her house empty-handed. Josephine loved to play cards, visit the casino, sew, and watch Gunsmoke. Her warm, beautiful smile and stories will be missed by all who knew her.

Family members include her children: David Phillips (George Ann) and Sandra Josephine Bragg (Rick); her grandchildren: Joseph Bowen Phillips (Liliia), Dr. Hannah Strong (Chandler), Ashlyn Josephine Cronan (Jonathan), and Brandon Allen Gorse (Margaret); great-grandchildren: Kyleigh Renea Gorse and Charles Brandon Gorse. She is preceded by her husband, Joseph Allen Phillips; her son, Mark John Phillips; and by her sister, Meredith Phillips.

The graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with David Annis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnels to Towers or to the Ronald McDonald House.
