Joyce Alley Jones

Joyce Isabelle Alley Jones, 81, of Dearing, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, 27 August 2025.

She was born and raised in Jonesport, Maine and lived in Valparaiso, Indiana for over 60 years.

Joyce was most known for the love and pride she had in her family, as well as her dedication to the Valparaiso Public Library Reference Department where she worked for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Dawes, her sisters, Edna Smith and Paula Reed, and her brother,Michael Dawes.

Joyce is survived by her husband: Paul, of Dearing, Georgia; her two children: David (Heather) Jones of Eugene, Oregon, and James R. Jones of Dearing, Georgia: and her sister: Lauralee Sargent (Dwight) of Albert Lea, Minnesota. Joyce also has 6 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss her dearly.

Joyce will always be loved and never forgotten. A family service will be held, at a later date, in Maine.
