Kenneth (Ken) Lee Adair Senior, 88, of Martinez, Georgia, was called home to his loving Savior on August 7th, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Ken was born in Cedartown, Georgia, to Vester Lee Adair and Betty Florence Adair on October 25th, 1936. He resided in Cedartown for 18 years, where he considers his hometown to be. He married Wilma Nan Milford on February 4th, 1961, in Augusta, Georgia.
Ken proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War before coming to Augusta, GA, in 1959. After coming to Augusta, he started working in the office machine business, eventually starting his own office machine business, Adair Office Machines.
Ken was an avid Georgia Tech fan. He took his family to many games as they grew up. Ken loved the game of golf and introduced his sons to the game in their early teens, including playing and taking them to the Masters Tournament. Ken always supported his daughter in sports activities throughout her school career.
Ken was a loving Papa to his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He would support his grandchildren in any activity they participated in, including many softball games, basketball games, theatre performances, and gymnastics meets. He was affectionately known as “Big Ken” to others outside the family because of his loving personality. Ken is known as “Kenneth” to his hometown relatives and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Vester Lee Adair and Betty Florence Adair, and his sister Joyce Roberts.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Milford Adair, of 64 years. His sons, Kenny [Patty] Adair, Darrell [Elaine] Adair, and his daughter, Dana [Steve] Garrett. His grandchildren, Corey Adair, Jordan Adair, Ashley [Trevor] Hurt, Amber Garrett, Keri [Cameron] Tiedeman, and Kali Garrett. His beautiful great-granddaughter, Magnolia Grace Hurt. His devoted sister, Florine [Marvin] Williams.
Pallbearers will be the following: Michael Williams, Jeffrey Whaley, Leslie Roberts, Corey Adair, Jordan Adair, Trevor Hurt, and Cameron Tiedeman. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Galloway and Tony Baker.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 10th, 2025, from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at Thomas Poteets & Son Funeral Home, 214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907. Funeral Services will be held at 12 o’clock on Sunday, following the visitation. Rev. Roscoe Perry will be officiating. Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
