Lillian Isler Smith

Mrs. Lillian Isler Smith, 97, beloved wife of the late Frederick H. Smith, entered into rest on September 21, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with the Rev. Phillip A. Winsett officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born in Tallahassee, FL to the late T.B. and Lillie Mae Pittman Isler. She graduated from Florida State University and began a career as a dental hygienist. Mrs. Smith also retired from the Columbia County Board of Education where she worked as an Executive Assistant. She was a longtime member of Martinez Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Frederick “Fred” Smith (Deborah); her grandson, Jerry Douglas (Michelle); her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hornsby (Dalton) and Jordan Douglas; and her niece, Melanie Hill (Eric); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Fletcher.
