Augusta, GA - Mrs. Louise Markwalter Wright age 94, died at home surrounded by her family on December 20, 2024. Louise was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. As a caring and generous person, her door was always open, and she never missed an opportunity to show kindness to anyone.

Born on Lombardy Court in Augusta on November 22, 1930, she lived her entire life in a two-mile area. Louise was the seventh of eight children of Agnes Sheehan and Charles Victor Markwalter. The loving wife of the late Doctor Claude-Starr Wright (1979), she was a faithful and a life-long member of Saint Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, and a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph’s girls school. 

She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Starr Wright, Mary and Bill Love, Hank and Marianna Wright, Caroline and John Whitten, and Jim and Melanie Wright; her eleven grandchildren: Katherine Petra Love and Patrick

Petra, Jack Love and fiancé Kalle Paragioudakis, Winston Wright, Michael and Laura Wright, Allison Wright, Starr Whitten, Julia Whitten, James and Sabrina Wright, Erin Wright, Patrick Wright, and John Wright and two great-grandchildren Alex and Charlie Petra. She is also survived by her brother Jack Markwalter and his wife Marcelene, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aquinas High School,1920 Highland Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904; or Catholic Social Services, 811 Twelfth Street, Augusta, Georgia 30901.
