Mark Johnston Stone

Kline, SC – Entered into rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, after a short battle with lung cancer, Mr. Mark Johnston Stone, 59, son of the late Jackie Stone Poteet and Walter Stone.

He is survived by his son: Brayden Stone; step-sons: Brian and Dewayne Gray; Loving partner: Theresa Rhodes and her children: Valerie Baldree, Andrew Baldree and grandchildren: Isabel Smith, Donald Paul Smith Jr; sister: Marcy Stone Billings (Kevin); nieces and nephews: Melissa Kate Strickland (Jesse), Kyle Evans (Kelli), Morgan Tucker (Logan), Molly Ketusky (Jonathan) and Ryan Billings; and his aunt, Charlotte Frederick (Don).

Mark was a loving father, brother, stepfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed long rides in the truck with Brayden, Theresa and his dog A’Ja. Mark was known as the "picture man", following his sons Brayden, Bryson and Jaxon wherever they played sports. Nothing brought him greater joy than to be on the sidelines cheering and coaching all of his boys.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Brian Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m.
