Mary Margret DeRemer, 79, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully, on November 11, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 16, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to John and Lona Fallis.
Mary proudly served in the United States Army, a chapter of her life that shaped her strength, discipline, and deep sense of dedication. She carried those values with her throughout her life and in every relationship she nurtured.
In 1967, she married Michael Sutton, and in 1969 they welcomed her cherished daughter, Kimberly DeRemer. In 1973, Mary married William “Dee” DeRemer, with whom she shared a joyful and devoted life until his passing in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lona Fallis, her husband 1SG. William DeRemer and by her brothers Tom and Bill, all of whom she held close in her heart.
Mary leaves behind her beloved daughter Kimberly, her treasured grandchildren William Daugherty (Laurie) and Amber Crider (Robert), and her adored great-grandchildren Dixiana Daugherty and Franklin Crider. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend Judy Balser, who was closer than a sister, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, strength, and loving spirit.
As per Mary’s wishes, there will be no services or formal funeral. She wished to be cremated and her ashes laid to rest with her husband, Dee, at Arlington National Cemetery, honoring their lasting bond and shared dedication to service.
Mary will be remembered for her compassion, courage, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
