Mary L. Hood

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, October 20, 2025, Mary Louise Lewis Hood, 77, loving wife of Stephen Dale Hood.

Mary loved her family and dearly loved her grandkids. She always wanted all of her family to be together. An avid Elvis fan, Mary loved the beach.

Family members include her husband: Stephen Dale Hood; mother: Magdalena “Maggie” Lewis; children: Christopher Miller (Jennifer), Traci Duffie, Jeff Miller, Heather Tallent (Neal), Michael Miller, Stephen McCord (Amy), Stephanie Hood Harris, and Stephen Dale Hood II; grandchildren: Caroline Miller, Courtney Miller, Madeline Miller, Andrew Duffie (Leanna), Zachary Duffie, Wesley Miller (Abigail), Jake Miller (Marley), Peyton Hargrove, Darrell Hood, Dallas Odom, and Kaden Odom; brother: Richard Lewis (Mary).

She was preceded in death by her father James Leroy Lewis.

The memorial service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors. She will be laid to rest in the garden of St Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in a private ceremony.
