Michael "Mike" Mosner

Michael A. Mosner (Mike), 90, passed away on December 15, 2025. Born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, MD, he was the youngest of five sons. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marguerite, and four brothers (Jack, Bill, Ed, and Bob). Mike graduated from LaSalle High School in Cumberland, MD, in 1954 and joined the U.S. Air Force immediately afterward. He served for 12 years at bases all over the world.

The best day of his life was August 11, 1956, when he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Katherine McDade, who passed away in 2022. Together, they raised six children: Michelle Miller (Charleston, SC), Marguerite Mosner (Augusta, GA), Gaby Wheatley (Sam, Hilton Head Island, SC), Melissa Hancock (Atlanta, GA), Michael Mosner Jr. (Beth, Lexington, SC), and Melinda Dalton (Brendan, Atlanta, GA).

Mike had nine grandchildren—Eric Miller (Francesca), Lauren Oren (Elliot), Marguerite DuTeau (Matthew), Samantha Goeddel (Stephen), Ben Mosner (fiancé Kayley), Katherine Hancock, Neil Hancock, Emory Hancock, and Patrick Dalton—and six great-grandchildren—Dean Oren, Katherine Oren, Henry Oren, Luisa Miller, Ava Miller, and Elsie Kate Goeddel.

After the military, Mike began a career with IBM in 1967, and the family moved to Augusta in 1979. He retired from IBM in 1987 and went on to finish his working years with Meybohm Real Estate. Mike and his family were members of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus (677), a member of the Irish American Heritage Society (2015 Irish Family of the Year), and a member of the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors. Mike was devoted to his wife and family but also enjoyed golf and spending time with friends, including lunches with fellow parishioners as well as friends from Meybohm: Willy Hogan, Tonya Armstrong, and Nell Morris.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, Aquinas High School, or the Wounded Warriors of Augusta.

The funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with inurnment following at church columbarium.
