Michael Taylor Rule

Michael Taylor Rule of Martinez, Georgia, passed away on February 13th of 2026 at the age of 70.

Mike grew up enjoying Judo and motorcycles in Jacksonville, Florida, becoming a lifelong Florida Gators fan. Mike left Florida to serve in the U.S. Army for 17 years as a nurse and instructor, becoming a husband and father during this time. Mike and the Army parted ways in Augusta, Georgia and Mike spent the next 35 years working at the V.A. Mike continued to enjoy Judo, eventually earning his 3rd degree black belt, but spent most of his free time in the woods as a Boy Scout leader.

Mike is survived by his sons, Ian and Bob, his grandchildren Evelyn and Rebecca, his nephews Stephen, and David, and his nieces Debbie, and Claudia.

The memorial for Michael Rule will be held on March 14th from 2:30 to 4:30 at the Georgia-Carolina Nature and Adventure Center. This will be an informal gathering to remember Mike and be together. We ask that you help us remember Mike by sharing a memory or two in writing in a memory book which we will have available at the memorial or writing a letter beforehand.
