Augusta, Ga.-Entered into rest Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital, Mr. Joseph Bowers, 73, of Augusta.
Mr. Bowers is a native of Frederick, Maryland. He served in the US Armed forces during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bowers served with the Augusta Police Department where he was an officer on the Motorcycle Division from 1958 to 1963. He was a member of the Democrat Club in Maryland.
Family members include his sons: Joseph Allen Matthews, of Martinez, Mark Bowers of Savannah, GA; daughters: Vivian King Smith and husband Scott of Martinez, Lori Sanders of Summerville, SC; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009, 2:00 P.M. at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Chip White officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
