Evans, GA- Mrs. Carol S. Merritt, age 91, entered into rest Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at her home at Brandon Wilde.
Mrs. Merritt was an associate member of the Alleluia Community and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. She was a Third Order Carmelite for 42 years. She retired as an executive secretary for ROTC at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
Family members include sons: Robert G. Merritt III of Tucson, AZ and Keith F. (Jane) Merritt of New Bern, NC; daughters: Carol S. (David) McCaffrey of Annandale, VA and Pamela (Robert) Nestor of Aiken, SC; grandchildren: Benjamin W. Merritt, Marie (David) Beougher, Eileen (Christopher) Sloane, Theresa (Gregory) Beatty, David (Kim) McCaffrey, Keith Brian Merritt, Michael David Merritt, David A (Nicky) Nestor, Christine (Ramsey) Chambers, John P. (Allison) Nestor, James E. Nestor, Kathleen E Nestor; sister-in-law: Helen (Mrs. Stuart) Fries of Washington D.C.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Van Alstine officiating. Burial will be in Alleluia Cemetery in Dearing, GA.
