Nettie Justice

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, July 3, 2023, Nettie Ray Justice, 91, loving wife of the late Orlanda Justice.

Nettie was born and raised in Eastman, GA, and married the love of her life, Orlanda, in 1951. As a military family, they traveled the world raising five children before settling and living most of their lives in Augusta, GA. Nettie was known for cooking the best fried chicken and chicken and dumplings ever, growing and canning the best vegetables and enjoying playing pinochle. She loved to socialize and hang out with her best friends Helen and Jane. She was one of the sassy Yancey sisters, and there was so much fun when she was able to visit with her siblings. A couple years after Orlanda’s passing, Nettie made a happy home with her daughter, Linda and her husband Mark, and their son Michael, for almost 20 years, enjoying the simple things in life - visits from her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends and loving her faithful four-legged companions. She had a love of milk shakes and convertible rides. She was a sassy, 91-year old teenager until she passed away in her home surrounded by love. Nettie will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Family members include her children: James Charles Justice (Lou), Robert Justice (Patricia), Bruce E. Justice (Cheryl), and Linda K. Dailey (Mark); grandchildren: Yancey Justice, Maxie Gardner, Jaime Kirkham, Jacob Justice, Curtis Justice, Dana Justice, Katie King, Joshua Justice, Aaron Justice, Michael Dailey, Albert Jimenez, and Tara Jimenez; and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Bertha Yancey, and daughter, Sherrian Jimenez.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Kellie Cardona officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Dream Center, www.augustadreamcenter.org .
