Olga Perez Carnahan

Our beloved Olga joined her Lord and Savior, on a blue skied morning in the loving care of her daughter Susan and son Adam. She died of natural causes at the beautiful age of 88. She is preceded in death by her parents Ovidio and Susana Perez of San Antonio TX, and brothers Gilbert, Porfirio (Piro), and Reynoldo Perez. Loving siblings left to cherish her memory are Ovidio Jr. (Wally), Irma, Cleo, Chela, Tillie, Irene, and Carrie.

 

Olga was born in Donna Texas. Her father moved his family to San Antonio where she would meet her future husband Vernon Adam Carnahan. She was a courageous military wife, raising five young children during her husband's deployment during the Korean and Vietnam War. She lovingly instilled in her children, her strong faith and her love of the arts, music and culture. Left to cherish their mother’s memory are Susan Carnahan Augusta GA., Sandra Carnahan Cooley (John) Dallas, TX, Selma Carnahan Nelken (Sam) Natchitoches, LA, Adam Carnahan II (Beth) Augusta, GA, and Samantha Carnahan, San Antonio, TX.

 

Olga was blessed with three granddaughters, Jennifer Nelken Yezak(Michael) of Waco, TX, Caroline Carnahan Campbell (Garrett) of Charleston, SC, Katherine (Kati) Lane Smith of Dallas TX, grandchildren through love Lindsey Johnston (Leah), Alicia Cooley Taylor (Jacob), Christopher Cooley, and seven great-grandchildren Woods and Adam Campbell, Driggs Yezak, Charlie, Claire, and Anna Johnston, and Jack Taylor.

 

Our family would like to give thanks and praise to our heavenly father for giving us these many years with our loving mother, precious sister, adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. 


A private celebration of her life will be held with family and friends in San Antonio. 

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Via Cognitive Health where she participated in activities she enjoyed, board games, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, listening to music, and singing. She was always up for a good game of scrabble! VCH is a membership center that supports mindfulness for seniors where they are challenged and engaged.
