Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Pat Walton, 77, wife of Skip Walton.
Pat was the heart and steady backbone of her family. She showed her love through cooking and baking, sharing what she made with family and friends, and making sure everyone felt cared for. Above all else, Pat loved her husband, Skip. He was the most important person in her life, and she adored him deeply—with a love marked by grace, mercy, loyalty, and devotion. He was her home, her constant, and the center of her world.
Pat delighted in life’s experiences. She loved camping and traveling, discovering new places, and took particular joy in buying a new car nearly every year—each one a small celebration of living fully. Her love of travel likely stemmed from her own childhood as an Army brat, moving to many places with her parents, including Japan, which gave her a curiosity and appreciation for the world that lasted her whole life. She finally made one of the trips she had always dreamed of—traveling to Egypt with Skip in 2019 for a week, an experience she cherished deeply. She was an avid reader who cherished her books, building a personal library she simply could not part with. She also loved family photographs, treasuring memories and the stories behind every picture. Pat was a true connoisseur, with a thoughtful appreciation for art, music, fashion, and antiquing, always drawn to beauty, craftsmanship, and story. Most of all, she loved people. Every person she met mattered to her, and she believed each encounter carried purpose.
Pat’s love of travel and connection was also reflected in her 25 years of service with AAFES. During her career, she served at Fort Gordon, in Kuwait, Dallas, Texas, and Germany—experiences she carried with pride and gratitude. Wherever life took her, Pat brought warmth, curiosity, and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and joy that will continue to guide and comfort all who were blessed to know her.
In addition of survived family members, husband Skip Walton, her daughter Trish Wilcher (Max), son Richard Walton (Tomoko), son Leonard Berridge (Dianne), her granddaughters Jacky Cain (Ben), Victoria Certain (Jacob), and her eight beautiful great-grandchildren, she is survived by her sisters Nancy Libke, Alice Tolar, Pam Banet, and her brother John Danford.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents: Mildred and Jesup Danford; her sister: Annette Adams; and her beloved grandson: Kyle Loungeway.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Thomas Poteet and Son Chapel with her granddaughter, Jacky Cain officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your local animal society.
