Augusta, GA – Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Dickens Hodges, 89, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hodges was a devoted Christian woman whose generous spirit touched everyone around her. A longtime member of Abilene Baptist Church, she faithfully volunteered her time, often serving in the church kitchen. She was a talented quilter and seamstress, lovingly creating beautiful quilts and handmade clothing for her family. With a remarkable green thumb, she could grow just about anything, and her home was filled with the fruits of her labor and the aroma of her delicious cooking.
Mrs. Hodges lived a full and active life. She loved to travel and treasured time spent with her loved ones, especially enjoying gatherings by the pool with her family. Known for her punctuality and dedication, she never missed a day of work. Her career began as a switchboard operator, and through hard work and perseverance, she rose through the ranks of AT&T and its predecessor companies, retiring with pride after 40 years of service.
Her life was a testament to faith, family, and quiet strength, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Hodges is survived by her son: Danny Hodges; daughters: Boogie Worley, Deana Hall, Debbie Baird, JoAnn Hodges, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her companion: Walter Subel; son: William Hodges; brother: Billy Dickens; daughter-in-law: Angie Hodges; and sons-in-law: David Worley, Sr. and Callie Hall.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Bart Grey officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
