Patricia Scoggins

Augusta, GA – Patricia Eubanks Scoggins, born February 3, 1952, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Preston, her children Preston Scoggins, Julie Scoggins Lynn, Thomas and Dawn Scoggins, Patrick Scoggins, and Katherine Scoggins, and eight grandchildren Katelyn Scoggins, Gaines Scoggins, Charlie Scoggins, John Scoggins, Winston Scoggins, Caroline Lynn, Wolfe Scoggins, and Layton Lynn. She is also survived by her siblings Walter and Beth Eubanks, Susan and Sam Nicholson, Jane and Jim Gleichauf, Tony Eubanks, and many extended family members, including numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jane Markwalter Eubanks, her brother Charles Preston Eubanks, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wilson and Debbie Scoggins Hemphill.

Tricia was a proud grandmother, known affectionately as “Nonnie” to many. To her family, she was a constant source of wisdom, love, and unwavering support. Tricia adored her grandchildren, always available for a chat and a snack, a game or a movie, a fun activity, or a trip to the beach. She cherished time spent with her family and found great joy in their togetherness.

As a devoted, lifelong member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, Tricia found great comfort and purpose in her faith. Among her many devotions, some of her most recent were the Adoration Chapel, the Apron Ministry, and Eucharistic Ministry.

Tricia was a gifted seamstress from a young age, crafting heirloom pieces that contributed to the milestone events of many. Her talents were enjoyed by generations, notably by members of the Irish American Heritage Society proudly displaying their sashes by Tricia annually on St. Patrick’s Day.

While Tricia devoted her life to others through nursing, Hospice was her true calling and gift. She led with love and compassion, and saw dignity in every person through their most vulnerable moments. She humbly received awards including the Heart of Hospice and Sister Mary Louise Herman Award.

The family would like to thank Alisha Jackson, Dr. Gibbs, and the team at Trinity Hospice, and Krystal Akridge and the team at Augusta Oncology for their compassionate care.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, June 3, 2025, at Thomas Poteet & Son. The Rosary will begin at 6:00 PM with visitation following from 6:30 until 8 PM.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with celebrant Fr. Mark Ross. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
