Paul Wyburg Neidlinger

Augusta, GA — Paul Wyburg Neidlinger, 94, the last of his generation, peacefully and naturally entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2026.

Paul’s life was defined by the people he loved and the things he built. For 94 years, he was a cornerstone of his family, most notably as the devoted husband to his wife, Nina Neidlinger. Their partnership was the foundation of a large, vibrant family that Paul led with both strength and a quiet, nurturing spirit.

As a grandfather, Paul’s legacy lives on in the lessons he shared. Whether it was the patience required for a long day of fishing or the grit needed to restore an engine, he was always teaching. One of his proudest achievements wasn't found in a manual, but in the hours spent side-by-side with his grandson, together building a car from the ground up—a testament to his belief that anything worth having is worth working for.

A proud veteran, Paul served twenty years in the U.S. Air Force (1952-1972) and a year in the National Guard, carrying that sense of duty into his roles as a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Central Christian Church of Augusta. He was a man of simple, lasting pleasures: the twang of a country song, the smell of a home-cooked meal, and the steady rhythm of mechanical work.

In addition to his beloved Nina, Paul’s memory is carried forward by his children: Paul Neidlinger, Jr., LaVerne Blalock (Dwight), and David Neidlinger (Myriam); his "children-in-love," Joseph Cole III and Alicia Cole (Benjamin LaFavor); and a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever remember his stories and his smile. He was preceded in joining the Lord by his parents (Ulrich and Lyose), sisters (Irma, Marjorie and Jean) and brothers (Junior, Cubby, John, Jack, Donny, Robert, Craig, Francis) and his children-in-love, the late Leo Pelletier, Jr. and the late Matthew Pelletier (Maria and children Paul and Sonjya).
