Phinizy Lamkin Davis

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Phinizy “Phiny” Lamkin Davis, 76, husband of Rebecca “Becky” Nixon Davis.

Phiny Davis was the Power Project Manager at the J. Strom Thurmond Power Plant. He retired from the Corps of Engineers in 2013.

He graduated from the Academy of Richmond County and was a member of several civic organizations in the community.

Phiny loved his family dearly. He was a golf enthusiast who enjoyed the many relationships he forged on the links, most recently as a member of the Applewood Golf Club. He would often spend his time grilling out on his Big Green Egg, fishing, and watching sports on tv. Phiny was quick witted, humorous, and loyal, finding true joy in interacting with friends, family, and his dogs.

In addition to his wife, family members include his son: Phinizy “Phin” Lamkin Davis Jr. (Dr. Amanda Sengel); grandchildren: Jacob “Jay” Nixon Davis, Jr., Trenton “Rex” Davis; nephew: Andrew “Andy” Gay (Sandy).

He was preceded by his son, Jacob Nixon Davis, and his sister, Helene Davis Gay.

Please join us for A Celebration of Life which will be held at the Davis residence on Saturday, April 25, 2026. We welcome family and friends to stop by anytime between 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Come share your stories, your smiles, and your memories as we honor Phiny together.
