Rachel Janice Harden

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Rachel Janice Harden, 76, entered into rest on Thursday, April 23, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Arnold (Steve) Harden and mother of Janice (Jennie) Harden.

Mrs. Harden was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and shared 38 loving years of marriage with her late husband Arnold (Steve) Harden. A devoted mother, she cherished a special bond with her daughter and caregiver, Jennie. In her spare time, Mrs. Harden enjoyed traveling and volunteering in support of local veterans.

Mrs. Harden is also survived by brother: Marshall Kitchens and his wife Linda; sister: Linda Fishburn; honorary daughter: Lori Varner; and special nieces: Jennifer Oehrlein, Kayla Oehrlein, and Monique Salamacha. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Harden is preceded in death by parents: Norman and Geneva Kitchens, six siblings, and her beloved canine companion: Zippy.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Barry Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
