Richard John Eargle, 71, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 11, surrounded by his loved ones.
Richard lived a life marked by quiet strength, hard work, and a heart for service. He dedicated many years of his career to the VA Hospital, as supervisor of the energy plant. After retiring, he founded his own business, Richard Eargle Services, where he continued doing what he loved—working with his hands and helping people.
Above all, Richard loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband to Jan, a proud father to Joshua and Kevin, and a loving Papa to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jan Eargle; two sons, Joshua Eargle (Tiffany) and Kevin Eargle (Lauren); step children, John Connor, Emily Lewis (John); his sister, Teresa Choat; nephews, Matthew Choat (Alyssa), Phillip Choat (Cara), his beloved grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Richard’s legacy lives on not only in the work of his hands but in the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep commitment to his family, and his unwavering willingness to help those around him. He leaves behind not only memories, but values and love that will be carried forward for generations.
The family will receive friends and family beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m on July 19, 2025, at Church of Our Savior—4227 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia.
Interment will take place at the graveside immediately following the service—Westover Memorial, 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, Georgia.
