Evans, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Bob Taylor, 72, husband of Carol Lorraine Taylor, to whom he was married for 43 years. Bob Taylor was born on December 6, 1953, in San Diego, California to George Earl Taylor and Beverley Ann Taylor.
Bob was best known for his love for the Atlanta Braves baseball team. Every baseball season, he could be found watching the game and texting or calling his loved ones about who was pitching, how “that should have been a strike!”, and any number of game statistics he wanted us to know. He was known as the cook and baker of the house, always wanting to try new recipes. He would bake cookies, pecan tarts, and mini apple pies at all times of the year, but they were extra special at Christmas. Garth Brooks and Elvis were his favorite artists, along with any song from the 60’s or 70’s eras, frequent favorite stations on the radio in his truck. But above all, he loved his family the most: his wife and kids assuredly, all his extended family, but he was especially devoted to all his grandkids; always taking the time to check up on all of them, he was always so proud. He will be missed dearly, his larger-than-life personality, his laugh, his sense of humor, his way of loving and caring for those around him.
His devotion to others was also reflected in his honorable service to his country. Bob proudly served in the United States Army, beginning his military career in the Army Reserves and later answered the call to active duty in Oct. of 1982, continuing a path defined by duty, sacrifice, and quiet strength. Over the course of 22 and a half years, he served with distinction, earning the respect of his fellow soldiers and embodying the same loyalty and steadfast character that his family knew so well. His military career was a source of deep pride, and he carried the values it instilled in him throughout the rest of his life.
In addition to his wife, his family includes his oldest daughter, Sandy Beverley Taylor Pendley, and her husband, Donnie Ray Pendley, along with their sons, Jordan Andrew Nickerson, Mark Eugene Nickerson Jr., and Zack Brice Pendley; his son, Daniel James Taylor, and his wife, Chelsea Rose-Bartell Taylor, along with their sons, Harrison James Taylor and William Scott Taylor; and his youngest daughter, Elizabeth Nicole Taylor-Babin, and her husband, Michael James Babin, along with their daughter, Lori Rae Babin.
The celebration of the life of Bob Taylor will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association.
