Rodney Wayne Strother

Rodney Wayne Strother, 72, passed away December 15, 2025 in Aiken, SC.

A native of Augusta, Georgia, he was the second child of the late James Frank Strother, Sr. and the late Lillian Weathersbee. He attended Glenn Hills High School and graduated as Salutatorian for the Class of 1971. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1975.

Mr. Strother began working at Strother’s Printing alongside his father in the late 1970s. He later became the operator and later owner until he retired in 2024. He enjoyed trivia, watching comedies, playing guitar, banjo, ukelele, keyboard and singing.

Mr. Strother is survived by his wife Linda Strother; his two children: Zachary Strother (Irina) of Kazan, Russia; Wyatt Strother of Aiken, SC; two step-children, Lauren Rider (Steven) of Knoxville, TN; and Jessica Christian (Joe) of Aiken, SC; his two sisters, Cheryl Faglier (Donnie) of Grovetown, GA and Jan Grooms (Darryl) of Grovetown, GA; six step-grandchildren, and several nephews and grand-nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta with Rev. Philip Hedgecoth officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow onsite at First Baptist Church of Augusta, 3500 Walton Way Ext. Augusta, GA 30909.
