Roger William Wahl

Roger William Wahl, 79, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on March 30, 2026. Born on February 8, 1947, Roger was a proud Vietnam Veteran who carried a deep sense of strength, resilience, and dedication throughout his life.

Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family deeply. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Joy Wahl, and built a life centered around love, loyalty, and unwavering support for those closest to him.

For many years, Roger worked as a Certified Public Accountant, where he became known for his dedication and sharp mind. He had a true passion for his work and was famously obsessed with taxes, something those who knew him will always remember with a smile. He also had a strong interest in politics and enjoyed discussing current events. He was a proud supporter of the Republican Party and never shied away from sharing his opinions, no matter who it offended.

Outside of his career, Roger had a lifelong love for box turtles. Since the age of five, he raised and cared for them with genuine joy and fascination, a hobby that remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Roger will be remembered as the greatest man by those who loved him. He was hilarious, generous, and never judgmental, someone who accepted everyone exactly as they were. He had a way of making people feel seen, understood, and at home just by being himself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wahl and Margaret Wahl; his sister, Karen Ariel Wahl; and his beloved monkey, Molly.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Wahl; his children, Betsy Verboom; Christian Wahl (Ashley); Ashleigh Fiocchi (Tim); Fairleigh Johnson (Shane); Spencer Wahl (Samantha); and Dasia Bradley (Chris), who held a special place in his heart as a granddaughter but was truly loved and cherished as a daughter. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Marilyn Dale (Tyler); Crystal Owens (Kevin); and Gabrielle Cunningham (Tristen). He is also survived by his siblings, Rolly Wahl (Linda); Christine Billone; Robin Withers (Kevin); and Candeline Wahl (George).

Roger leaves behind a large and loving legacy, including 23 other grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to carry his memory forward.

His life was defined by love, laughter, and the way he made others feel. And if he were here, he would likely remind us all of the words he lived by, “No Blood No Tears.” Strong, steady, and unwavering to the very end.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. He was our rock.
