Roland Alfons Humbs, Jr.

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, March 6, 2026, Roland Humbs, Jr., 62, husband of Vincent Carl Bentley.

Roland Humbs was born in Regensburg in the state of Bavaria and grew up in a neighboring village, Keilberg in an extended family with his parents, brother, and grandmother. He attended school to be an insurance agent, but later worked as a web designer, advertisement agent, co-owner of a restaurant, and mobile telephone representative. He met his husband who was working in Germany at the time and together came to Augusta where they have since married and have lived for 10 years.

Roland has since excelled in exploring his creative side by providing cement ornamentation on Etsy. He loved to dance. He played the accordion and was a lover of vintage clothing which he displayed on his Instagram page. His passion was his schnoodle, Amelie.

He dearly missed his homeland, and his remains will be returned to Germany to lie in rest next to his parents on Keilberg.

In addition to his husband, family members include his brother, Thomas Humbs (Angelika), nephew, Wolfgang Humbs, stepchildren Megan Finley (Claire), Caroline Bentley (David Olivencia), Christopher Bentley, and Rachael Bentley, and his four-legged companion Amelie.

He is preceded in his death by his parents, Roland A Humbs, Sr. and Martha Seiler Humbs.

The memorial service will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
